Senior Care Assistant – Residential & Dementia Care
Location: Andover area
Pay: £13.50 per hour (with optional overtime)
Hours: 32.5 per week, 5 shifts (rotating)
Shifts: 7:30 am-2 pm & 2 pm-8:30 pm
Contract: Permanent
Service Size: Up to 21 residents
About the Service
A friendly, well-established residential care home providing high-quality support for older adults and those living with dementia. The service offers both permanent and respite placements, alongside day care, in a supportive, homely environment.
Residents are supported by an experienced, compassionate team, delivering care tailored to individual needs, including mild, moderate, and advanced dementia, as well as palliative and end-of-life care.
The Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Senior Care Assistant to support and lead the care team, ensuring high standards of care and maintaining a safe, person-centred environment.
This role is ideal for someone with previous care experience who can take responsibility, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the overall smooth running of the home.
Key Responsibilities

Support residents with daily living tasks, personal care, and wellbeing.

Lead and guide junior care staff, providing mentorship and support.

Assist with care planning, documentation, and reporting.

Ensure compliance with care standards and policies.

Promote independence, dignity, and person-centred care.

Support day-to-day operational tasks and teamwork within the home.
About You
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a residential or dementia care setting.

NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (Level 3 preferred or willingness to complete).

Basic computer literacy for documentation and care records.

Compassionate, professional, and committed to high-quality care.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Working Pattern

32.5 hours per week, across 5 shifts.

Shift times: 7:30 am-2 pm and 2 pm-8:30 pm.
