Health Care Assistant (HCA) – Sheffield

Dementia Nursing Care Home

Shifts: 7:30am – 7:30pm (Days) or 7:30pm – 7:30am (Nights)

Pay Rates:

• £12.42 per hour – No NVQ

• £12.62 per hour – NVQ Level 2

• £12.82 per hour – NVQ Level 3

We are currently recruiting compassionate and reliable Health Care Assistants to join a well‑established Dementia Nursing Care service in Sheffield. Both day and night positions are available, offering stable long‑hour shifts and a supportive working environment.

About the Role

As an HCA, you will play a vital role in supporting residents with dementia, ensuring their safety, comfort and wellbeing. You will work as part of a dedicated care team delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting residents with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)

• Assisting with meals, hydration and nutritional needs

• Providing emotional support and companionship

• Supporting mobility and using moving & handling equipment safely

• Monitoring and reporting changes in residents’ wellbeing

• Maintaining accurate care records

• Working effectively as part of a team to deliver exceptional care

Requirements

• Previous care experience preferred but not essential

• NVQ not required (higher pay for NVQ Level 2 or 3)

• Compassionate, patient and reliable

• Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (days or nights)

• Passion for supporting individuals living with dementia
