Healthcare Assistant – Dementia & Older Person Nursing Care

Location: Sheffield Hours: Days or Nights (7:30am-7:30pm / 7:30pm-7:30am) Contract: Full‑time – 36 hours per week Pay Rates: £12.42 / £12.62 / £12.97 per hour

About the Role

We are currently recruiting compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to join our team supporting residents within a Dementia and Older Person Nursing Care service in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care in a supportive and professional environment.

You will be working as part of a caring team, ensuring residents receive the dignity, respect and support they deserve. Both day and night shifts are available.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing personal care including washing, dressing, toileting and grooming

• Supporting residents with dementia using patience, empathy and understanding

• Assisting with mobility, transfers and safe moving & handling

• Monitoring wellbeing and reporting any concerns to senior staff

• Supporting daily activities, meals, hydration and companionship

• Maintaining accurate documentation and following care plans

• Promoting dignity, independence and choice at all times

Requirements

• Previous care experience (dementia or elderly care preferred)

• A caring, patient and reliable attitude

• Ability to work 12‑hour shifts

• Good communication skills and teamwork

• Right to work in the UK
